Hypnosis in itself isn’t a therapeutic technique. It’s a method of getting a client to relax so you can begin change work through the unconscious mind. Once in hypnosis there are many techniques available to a hypnotist to help a client achieve the outcomes they desire.

However, hypnosis is often used to describe the whole session of making changes and so the articles here focus on the many ways hypnosis can help make changes and the types of issues it can help overcome. Hypnosis isn’t dark magic nor a silver bullet. It requires the active participation of a client and isn’t something that is “done” to you such as surgery. So, no active participation by client leads to failure or limp outcomes.

However, the skill of the hypnotist is an important aspect to consider. The advice you’ll find in the articles is to always seek out and interview hypnotists and find a match for you. Somebody you feel comfortable with and is realistic of what can be achieved and how long it can take. Professional certification is important but just one aspect of what you should see.
