Don’t Start A Diet Until You Know Which Metabolic Type You Are!

Do you know what type you are?

The same diet is not appropriate for everyone because not everyone is the same metabolic type. If you’re struggling to loose weight then info. here may help.

Metabolism, as defined at the website www.metabolictyping.com refers to the “sum total of all physiological and biochemical reactions that take place in your body in order to sustain life.”

Metabolic typing seeks to uncover the patterns of the strengths and weaknesses we all have based on our genetic cods. These patterns occur on both a biochemical as well as a physiological level and they’re as unique to a person as their DNA or their fingerprints.

This system of determining metabolic type and relevant diets based on it has developed over the last 25 years and has been the result of much clinical observation and empirical experience.

In fact over 60,000 cases have been recorded over the past two decades in looking into how metabolism doesn’t work the same for everyone.

What regulates metabolism is the autonomic nervous system (ANS).

The ANS can be further subdivided into the Sympathetic system and the Parasympathetic system. While both of these systems do the opposite of the other this works out perfectly because they still work in unison to maintain metabolic balance and efficiency (a state known as homeostasis).

To give an example of this, the Sympathetic nervous stimulation serves to speed up the heart rate while the Parasympathetic nervous stimulation slows down the heart rate. Both systems are essential to life and to the functioning of the human body.

Working as a team of sorts, the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic systems help to keep the heart rate where it is supposed to be. They also work together to support the proper functioning of the glands and organs throughout the body. It may sound like a strange way of putting it but there are particular organs that are “switched on” by the one system and “switched off” by the other.

Some individuals have organs and glands that are inherently stronger and for that reason are stimulated by the Sympathetic system. As a result of this, these people are known as Sympathetic Dominant Metabolic Types. Those who are the opposite and have more strength in their Parasympathetic division are referred to as Parasympathetic Dominant Metabolic Types. Those people who have organs and glands that are balanced between the two systems are known as Balanced Dominants.

There’s a lot of information to digest about metabolic typing but it’s a subject worthy of exploring further.

Taking the work of typing and adding to it on helping you formulate a diet plan specific to your metabolic typing has been the work of Isabel Del Rios. Del Rios has a program that has you check first how YOUR body process proteins and carbohydrates before you choose any diet plan. You can get more information on Del Rios Diet Solution here.
