Trimming Calories to Benefit Your Health

Small calorie changes accumulate

Trimming calories as a means of slimming down can be done by making a few small and simple changes in your life.

All you need to do is think healthy, smart and be aware of your calorie intake.

Summer time is the perfect time to do just that. If you want to lose a few inches to be ready for hot summer days and sizzling summer nights then read on for some simple suggestions to trim away the extra calories from your daily routine.

To begin with get at least an hour to two hours worth of exercise every week. If you can get more than that then even better for you. Whenever you have a free moment move your body. Do arm circles, a few jumping jacks or twist at the waist. Just move!

Be careful about what you drink. Water is the absolute best beverage to consume.

When trying to drop pounds don’t make the mistake of drinking your calories. There are a number of drinks that are made up of empty calories. Examples of these include soda, coffees drinks such as cappuccino and iced coffee and a variety of juice drinks and juices you mix with water.

Many of these drinks have no nutritional value whatsoever. If you wish to trim calories then drink any of these beverages sparingly or better yet don’t drink them at all. Make water your favorite drink!

Vegetables are so important for your body. They’re also low in calories but full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber. They’re also bulk dense foods that will make you feel full. Dark leafy green vegetables are particularly beneficial for this purpose. Examples of these include broccoli, kale, bok choy, romaine lettuce and broccoli.

Do not skip meals. Even if you eat a small portion of food make sure you eat something nutritious. If you skip meals then you will end up overeating at the next meal which isn’t good for you either. To prevent these unhealthy eating habits from invading your life always start your day with a healthy breakfast. Make it the first priority you wake up to.

Take the time to really get to know your body and your mind. Find other outlets for your stress other than food – what is called “emotional eating.”

If you find yourself hanging around your kitchen and randomly peaking into the refrigerator or the cupboards when meal times have long passed then you know you need to occupy your mind in  a more productive manner. If this becomes a common problem for you then you might want to consider trying weight loss hypnosis to decipher why you turn to food when you are in crisis.

Do not eat when you’re not hungry. Eat only to satisfy your body’s requirements and not to make yourself feel better for any other reason.

Now you’re ready to trim calories in your life like the champion you are!
