Have you determined you\u2019re ready to stop smoking?<\/p>\n<p>Whatever method you\u2019ve decided to help you quit doesn\u2019t matter, but recognize you\u2019ve made a monumental decision to stop and become a non-smoker. I congratulate you.<\/p>\n<p>When is the day? Is it January 1<sup>st<\/sup> or next week or next Monday?<\/p>\n<p>If it is any of these then I ask you with all respect \u2013 \u201c<i>Why not now?<\/i>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What are you waiting for? One last puff?<\/p>\n<p>Or maybe the chances to finish the pack you just bought and spent $8 on?<\/p>\n<p>But wait, maybe this Friday is your weekly night-out with friends and after this party that\u2019s the right time.<\/p>\n<p>All these excuses are common \u2013 as long as you recognize that\u2019s what they are \u2013 <i>just<\/i> <i>excuses<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Here is my concern on continuing to smoke once you\u2019ve made up your mind to quit \u2013 even just hearing your last one smoke plead \u2013 it could well be your \u201c<i>last smoke<\/i>\u201d causes \u201c<i>your last breath<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You see, nobody knows which cigarette causes the trigger to a health problem that leads to a serious health problem and even premature death. Nobody can tell you when you&#8217;ve &#8220;<em>crossed that line<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Taking another cigarette after you\u2019ve decided to quit is like continuing to play Russian Roulette and pulling the trigger even when you\u2019ve decided to stop playing the odds of the next chamber housing the bullet that goes through your head!<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve decided to quit because you\u2019re ready then don\u2019t wait &#8211; Ignore all this stuff about quitting day, and getting prepared while continuing to <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">pull the trigger<\/span>, sorry &#8211; smoke. Instead, take a deep breath and throw the cigarettes away.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, you may need help getting over some withdrawal symptoms or what to do with your fingers now \u2013 a symptom of your habit. But you can get help for all these challenges from a support group or a hypnotist.<\/p>\n<p>Statistics show that smokers are notorious for finding excuses not to stop even when they\u2019ve decided to quit. I talk to many smokers who book in on one of my stop smoking programs but never turn up for their first private or group session. It\u2019s so common that many hypnotists charge an appointment fee when you book and before you ever attend a session.<\/p>\n<p>Your \u201c<i>Last Smoke<\/i>\u201d should be the one you had just prior to making the decision to quit.<\/p>\n<p>Everything else is just an excuse.<\/p>\n<p>Are you really ready to quit?
